Simbu's career graph is soaring high after he delivered 'Maanaadu' the biggest blockbuster hit of the year. Producer Suresh Kamachi has officially confirmed that the Venkat Prabhu directed fantasy scifi film has collected rupees 117 Crores worldwide.
Since Simbu's dad TR is undergoing treatment for a blood leakage in his gut he has postponed all his film commitments till he gets better. The final shooting schedule of 'Pathu Thala' starring Simbu and Gautham Karthik should have been underway by now but it has been further delayed.
Meanwhile the hot buzz in Kollywood is that Simbu has decided to change the director of one of his upcoming films. A year or so earlier it was announced that Simbu will star in an out and out comedy film titled 'Corona Kumar' directed by Gokul of 'Idharkuthaaney Aasaipattai Balakumara' fame. The film was said to be a spinoff of the Vijay Sethupathi starrer set in the coronavirus era.
It is said that Simbu is no longer interested in 'Corona Kumar' and has expressed the same to producer Ishari Ganesh. The same sources add that Vels Films International is considering director N. Linguswamy to helm a new project starring Simbu with a new subject in place of 'Corona Kumar'. We will have to wait for the official confirmation on this one.
