Simbu after a long gap started shooting for his new movie 'Maanaadu' early this year and director Venkat Prabhu canned major portions in Chennai and planned to shift to Hyderabad. But the COVID 19 pandemic disrupted all the plans and two months have now passed in lockdown. The hitch here is that even if permission for the resumption of shooting is given there will be restrictions as to the number of persons who could work on the project. The film a political thriller reportedly has many scenes where hundreds of extras were required and it is difficult to begin work at least till the end of the year even after the lockdown is lifted.
Reports are coming in that Simbu has come up with a plan to ease 'Maanaadu' producer Suresh Kamachi's financial burdens according to which the same team will make a smaller film after the lockdown. It is said that Venkat Prabhu has already scripted a new screenplay in lighter vein and the entire cast right from Simbu, S.J.Surya and Kalyani Priyadarshan to Bharathiraja and SAC will be a part of it.
What is more that Simbu and Venkat Prabhu have also reportedly agreed to do the new project without taking salary and have accepted to receive their remuneration after the business of the project. Healthy development here and let's await the official confirmation on the same.
