Simbu after a strong comeback with Venkat Prabhu's 'Maanaadu' in 2021 is a changed man now. He recently was praised for his performance in 'Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu' and also tasted commercial success with 'Pathu Thala'. It is widely reported that his next will be 'STR 48' produced by Kamal Haasan and directed by Desingh Periyasamy.
It is now being reported that Simbu might do another quickie before moving to 'STR 48'. A few years back it was announced that Simbu will star in the comedy movie 'Corona Kumar' directed by Gokul and produced by Vels Films International. However the project was delayed due to various issues and it was said that Simbu walked out of the project and promised to do another film instead with producer Ishari Ganesh.
Unconfirmed sources say that talks have begun with Simbu to star in 'Corona Kumar' as the entire screenplay is ready and it will be wrapped up within a couple of months. Insiders believe that the deal is most likely to go through and an official announcement will be made soon. Lets see how this pans out.
It is worth mentioning that Gokul reportedly tried to mount 'Corona Kumar' first with Vijay Sethupathi and later with R.J. Balaji and most recently Pradeep Ranganathan. If Simbu does give his nod to re-enter the project then it will be one of his first out and out comedy entertainer in his career.
