Simbu delivered a blockbuster hit 'Maanaadu' in 2021 and was critically acclaimed for his power packed performance as a rising gangster in 'Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu' in 2022. However it has been several months since his new movie 'STR 48' was officially announced but has still not gone on floors yet.

'STR 48' a historical fantasy directed by Desingh Periyasamy has Simbu in dual roles as hero and villain. The major highlight is that Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan is producing the film with a huge budget.

Simbu fans have been lamenting on social media that there have been no updates regarding 'STR 48'. It is well known that Simbu prepped for his characters by undergoing rigorous martial arts and physical training in London, America and Thailand.

Now the hot news is that a test shoot for 'STR 48' was conducted recently in a studio in Chennai. The look of Simbu for both his characters stunned the team especially the badass villain getup.

The current info is that 'STR 48' will go on floors in November by which time Simbu's issues with Ishari Ganesh will also be sorted out. An official announcement on the rest of the cast and crew is expected by the Ayudha Pooja festival in mid October.
