Simbu after a long gap made a emphatic comeback with 'Maanaadu' directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamachi. The film that had music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and terrific performances from Simbu and S.J. Suryah turned out to be one of the biggest blockbuster hits of 2022.

Simbu is currently shooting for 'Pathu Thala' costarring Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar which will be wrapped up soon and will release on December 14th. His 'Venthu Thanindhadhu Kaadu' directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon is slated for release on September 15th.

Now the hot news that is doing the rounds in Kollywood is that Simbu is in talks to star as the hero in a new movie produced by Hombale Films of 'KGF', 'KGF2' and 'Salaar' fame. The pan Indian biggie directed by Sudha Kongara was announced several months back and is expected to go on floors by the end of the year after the director completes the Hindi remake of her 'Soorarai Pottru'.

Sudha has already revealed that she is doing a film with Suriya as the hero which has a much heavier subject than their last collaboration. It is said that considering the massive budget and extensive preproduction involved this project is likely to take off only in 2024.
