The electrifying combo of Simbu and Venkat Prabhu coming together for 'Maanadu' created a huge buzz when producer Suresh Kamatchi announced the project in 2018. The project was expected to go on floors from February 3rd but did not take off and currently, Simbu is in London to undergo rigorous physical training to get in shape for the role.
There has been reports in the media that 'Maanadu' is dropped evoking disappointed reactions from fans of Simbu on social media. We got in touch with sources close to the production where we got the information that the project is very much on and is likely to go on floors from April 14th this year.
Trade sources reveal that Simbu's last film 'Vanthaa Rajaavathaan Varuven' was an absolute disaster and could impact the budget of 'Maanadu' which involves heavy computer graphics. The sources suggest that once Simbu returns from the UK there would be a fresh round of talks between him and the producer wherein the budget will be cut down to make the project more feasible.
The producer of the movie, Suresh Kamatchi, has confirmed what we already announced, claiming that Maanadu is on and that the pre-production is happening in full swing. “Request to stop the Rumours that the movie is been dropped. It is not that easy to start a movie as u stop it by your silly Rumour We are very clear that #Maanadu is on. Discussions and pre-production is on full swing. Details about the movie and schedule to be revealed soon,” the producer posted on his Twitter page.
