Simbu after a very long time in his career is on a high after headlining the cast of Mani Ratnam's multistarrer 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam' that achieved blockbuster hit status at the box office. He has finished shooting for his next family entertainer 'Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven' directed by Sundar C and produced by Lyca Productions.

Simbu's next project is 'Maanadu' directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamachi which is said to be a super exciting script. Shooting starts on February 3rd which also happens to be the hero's birthday as well. To prepare for his role in the film Simbu is reducing his weight and is also learning a new martial art. The front line star who has an enviable fan following is flying to Thailand in January first week and will return after a month in a new lean look.
