Simbu's new time loop thriller 'Maanaadu' directed by Venkat Prabhu is slated for release worldwide on November 25th. The film is expected to take a bumper opening at the box office after the trailers and teasers escalating hype for a new experience.

Meanwhile the Tamil Nadu government made a sudden announcement that only those people who have been vaccinated for the COVID 19 would be allowed at public places such as movie theaters, malls etc. The order gained appreciation as it promotes immunization from the dreaded virus but however could spell disaster for new releases as a sizeable percentage are still to take the jab.

'Maanaadu' producer Suresh Kamachi has posted on Twitter in anguish "This is the first instance of making vaccination mandatory for filmgoers. How big a human rights violation is this? The current status quo should be maintained".

Social activists have also voiced against the government decision pointing out that the rule was never imposed when Rajini's 'Annaathe' release a fortnight ago. It is worth mentioning that the film is produced by Sun Pictures and was distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin owned Red Giant Movies.
