Silambarasan had denied reports appeared in a vernacular daily that he was beaten up in a roadside fracas on Friday.

Terming the news report as baseless, the actor said, 'there was no altercation actually. That night, I was going along with my friends to Sathyam Cinemas for a film shooting.

On the way, two youngsters on the road saw us and shouted unprintable words. A person from my unit tried to chase them, but they ran away.

So, we left for the shooting spot. I do not know who is behind the false reports,' he said.

Silambarasan's father and noted actor-director Vijaya T Rajender said blamed the hands of vested interests behind such reports and said he was ready to take on them.

He added that he would take up the issue with the Police Commissioner and consider legal action against the evening daily that published the report.
