Simbu has been admitted to a private hospital Chennai a little earlier today. It is said that he has a viral infection and was in much discomfort. Initial reports from hospital sources suggest that its a throat infection. There have been rumours on social media about a possible COVID 19 infection which has been denied by the same sources.

Simbu recently flew to Mumbai for a special premiere of his recent blockbuster hit movie 'Maanaadu'. The films cast and crew including Kalyani Priyadarshan, S.J. Suryah, Venkat Prabhu and Suresh Kamatchi also accompanied him.

Simbu flew directly to Hyderabad from Mumbai to take part in a small schedule of shooting for Gautham Menon's 'Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu' and shared a BTS pic too. On return home he has apparently fallen ill and here is wishing him a speedy recovery.
