Simbu is currently enjoying the prime of his career as 'Maanadu' became the first film in his filmography to join the 100c club. Yesterday, we addressed the speculations that his upcoming film 'Corona Kumar' is shelved. Now, an official source has quashed the rumours and clarified the situation.
Recently, an anonymous report being spread on the internet read that Simbu has postponed all his film commitments till his father, T Rajendar who is undergoing treatment for an ailment, gets better. It further stated that Simbu has opted out of 'Corona Kumar' and is in talks for a new film with director Lingusamy.
Now, the latest is that the film's former producer has clarified regarding the anonymous report. K Sathish was the former producer, who started 'Corona Kumar' under his banner Cinewaala Productions, before Ishari Ganesh's Vels Films International took over the project. When a fan quizzed about this report on Twitter, he replied, "#CoronaKumar can never be dropped DOT" (sic).
'Corona Kumar' is set to be directed by Gokul and the movie is touted to be a spin-off to the maker's debut film 'Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara'. Vijay Stehupathi is said to headline a cameo in this upcoming film. Meanwhile, there might be talks going on for a new venture with Simbu and Lingusamy, which may possibly be 'STR50'.
