For some, acting is an accident. For some, it's a profession where they could make money. But for Silambarasan, it would be an understatement to say it was in his blood, as he was destined to be an actor always. Being the son of the multi-talented veteran T.Rajendar, it wasn't a surprise as he began acting at the age of 1(Uravai Kaatha Kili). T.Rajendar began moulding Silambarasan right from his childhood, and naturally, growing with an immensely talented person, Silambarasan could inherit the traits of his father.

After more than 10 movies as a child artist, and special dance appearances, Simbu turned a hero with his dad's Kadhal Azhivathillai(2002). Though not a debut he wished for, Simbu continued to make his presence felt, with his energetic, lively acts and stunning dance skills in movies that followed. After several movies where he played a carefree youth, Simbu got an opportunity to prove his acting skills in Kovil(2004) and the same year, he announced his arrival as a commercially viable actor with Manmadhan, which turned out to be a blockbuster.

After the failure of his debut directorial Vallavan (2006), Simbu struck form with Gautam Vasudev Menon's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya (2010) that gave him a complete image makeover, as Gautam presented Simbu 2.0, sans punch dialogues and his typical mannerisms. Karthik was the gentle and lovable boy next door that Simbu had never played earlier, and the way he played the forever in love with Jessie, pain bearer Karthik with consummate ease, helped him reach a wider audience. And then followed movies like Vaanam, Poda podi where he displayed acting prowess. However, controversies began following him as well, and Simbu's movies began facing delays and Simbu's image took a beating as well. Films like Vaalu,Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada and Anbanavan Asarathavan Adangathavan faced unprecedented delays and issues with release that the audience were never sure if the movies will release on announced release dates.

Irrespective of the numerous controversies, release troubles, accusations, statements that have backfired one thing that Simbu never lost was his fans, as his fanbase kept growing. With the number of films Simbu did in the last few years taking a beating, and the controversies surrounding him both personally as well professionally, naturally one would expect his fanbase to witness a decline, but that never happened in Simbu's case. Probably it was his realisation of the loyalty of his fans that inspired him to rediscover himself with Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. His fine performance as the young gangster found instant positive response, and has returned on screens now with Vanthaa rajavathaan varuven, that is being celebrated by Simbu's fans for the perfect mass feast he has given them as his birthday treat.

Reportedly, Simbu is now getting ready focusing on his fitness to present himself in a new look, for his upcoming project with Gautham Menon, and with a number of interesting projects like Maanaadu with Venkat Prabhu, Pagalavan with Seeman, and few more projects, Simbu is sure to bounce back stronger than ever in this phase post CCV. VTV's Karthik, Vaanam's cable Raja, Poda podi's Arjun, Thotti Jaya and Ethi are some of the memorable characters that Simbu had given his fans and movie lovers in general in his career so far. Here's wishing Simbu 3.0 - the star who constantly reinvents and resurrects himself after failures and criticisms, a very happy Birthday, and wishing him many more such exciting roles and blockbusters and unlimited entertainment for his ever loyal fans!
