Simbu and Dhanush in remake!?

Movies that have two mega stars have been rare in Kollywood, but when they do make one, it is a sensational hit. A good example of this would be Ilamai Oonjaladugiradhu which was released in 1978, starring Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, the two biggest names of Tamil cinema. This film was directed by Sridhar for which the music was composed by maestro Illayaraja.

On the other hand, remakes have turned always been bad news in Kollywood. Most of the attempts have been a flop, especially in comparison to the original. Rumors have it that a remake of this film is being thought of with two current top heroes of Tamil cinema. Simbu and Dhanush have been approached for the remake of the Kamal and Rajini hit Ilamai Oonjaladugiradhu! Simbu for Kamal's role and Dhanush for Rajni's. The two young heroes have said they need time to mull over the idea. We look forward to a successful remake if they do take up the offer.
