Simbu over the past two years is intent on making a strong comeback and in the process has not only slimmed down admirably but also make lifestyle changes including staying off alcoholic beverages. He also had the reputation of being late on sets but all that has changed now and he has won the hearts of producers in his recent films.
Simbu has completed shooting of 'Maanaadu' directed by Venkat Prabhu which is one of the most awaited films of the year which is slated for release before year end. He is set to begin work on Gautham Vasudev Menon's 'Nadhigalile Neeradum Sooryan' in the first week of August.
Now there is a hot news doing the rounds in the Kollywood that Simbu is likely to star in the out and out comedy caper 'Corona Kumar' directed by Gokul and produced by Sathish. The film is a spinoff of the 2013 blockbuster anthology comedy 'Idharku Thaaney Aasaipattai Balakumara' directed by Gokul and starring Vijay Sethupathi as Sumaar Moonji Kumar.
Though Vijay Sethupathi and the rest of the cast of 'Corona Kumar' are said to be resprising their roles the story focusses on a new title character and earlier talks were on with Santhanam for the lead.
If Simbu gives the green signal for 'Corona Kumar' this will be his first full length comedy venture which will give his fans and the general audience something new to savour. Lets wait for the official confirmation.
