The much hyped film in the last one year for the presence of controversial heroine Veena Mallik from Pakistan `Silk'.Sakkath Hot Maga is disappointing in all angles. The magic of Veena Mallik has not worked and her skin show is not amazing at all. Her acting is a big zero and the content wise Trishool in his second film is very weak. What is told and narrated in the film `Silk' is nothing new. The hopeless part is editing. A few of the songs come just like that not connecting to the narration. Veena Mallik considered as `Prana' of this film does not appeal even in one scene. There are much better actors in Kannada cinema compared to Veena Mallik. It is Sana as head of flesh trade who is more attractive than Veena Mallik in her expressions and strength as an actress. R Venkatappa investing huge money on this film - the major expenses going to Veena Mallik has not caught hold of right subject and convincing narration. Trishool is a novice. It would have been better with a better actress the `Dirty Picture' is remade instead of outdated theme of this film. A village girl succumbing to pressures and entering the flesh trade is not a new issue on silver screen. Vijayalakshmi to support her family is duped by a pimp and she is forcibly made to accept flesh trade after live band closure. At the hands of Ammanni (Sana) the hot property is Vijalakshmi who is named as `Silk'. It is money but no morality. Silk finds some solace in Raja who is Shiva the hot headed youngster and deal master. When both Vijayalakshmi alias Silk and Raja alias Shivu know their mistakes agree to become life partners much against to the wishes of Ammanni. Later the turnout is as expected. Shiva dies in an attack from Ammanni deal and Silk with a child in her hand is made to enter her old profession. In a few songs Veena Mallik Veena Mallik attract the front benchers and there is nothing else to appreciate her talent. Akshay shines as action hero in this film. Sana is very effective in her role. Senior actors Srinivasamurthy, Avinash, Dharma, Achyuth Kumar, Girija Lokesh strength is wasted in this film. Jassie Gift music is crowded with instrument sounds. Yet two songs - Mathina Kannalle..Punaha Punaha Saniha Beku.are worth hearing and watching on silver screen. Jai Anand cinematography is quite OK when it is in the outdoor. Score - 5/10
