Silent voter to change the game in AP elections?
Send us your feedback to audioarticles@vaarta.com
The role of the silent voter is interesting in some Indian elections. For example, in 2007, not many expected that Mayawati's BSP would win a majority on its own in Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. It's because her support base is not usually vocal about its voting preferences and, as a result, their votes don't get reflected in opinion polls.
Is the silent voter an under-estimated phenomenon in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections? The question has to be asked because surveys don't seem to give a unanimous answer.
In the December 2018 Assembly elections in Telangana, it's this silent voter who gave a landslide to KCR's party. Only one pre-poll opinion poll (done for TV9) and one Exit Poll (done by My Axis) could capture the magnitude of the victory.
Who is the silent voter favouring this time in AP? Which party is going to benefit the most from the silent voter, especially the first-time voter?
We will know it on May 23.
