It is being reported for quite sometime that Silambarasan will be acting in 'Billa 3'. Earlier it was said that Venkat Prabhu will direct the film and later the name of Vishnuvardhan was doing rounds.
But now there is a new twist to the story. Sources reveal that STR himself will be helming 'Billa 3' and the film will not be an addition to the 'Billa' franchise. Instead the multi-talented star will be reviving his the script he had written for 'Kettavan' which was announced in 2008, only to be shelved later.
Sources aver that Simbu will be making 'Billa 3' with the script he had written for 'Kettavan'. This film will have Akshara Gowda of 'Arrambam' fame as the lead heroine. Sam Paul who played the corrupt police officer in Jayam Ravi's 'Vanamagan' will be playing the lead antagonist in the film.
The source adds that the film will be entirely shot in the US. STR has recently conducted a photo shoot and he will be releasing a teaser soon to gauge the response for the project. The actor who has faced the biggest debacle of his career with the failure of 'Anbanavan Asaradhava Adangadhavan' badly needs a hit to retain his stronghold as a star.
With this film STR will be returning to direction after a decade. He has earlier directed 'Vallavan' that released for Diwali 2006.
