Actor Silambarasan has spoken to media for the first time about the controversial Beep. The song sung by Silambarasan leaked online last week has created a huge controversy for its alleged portrayal of women in bad light and usage of cuss words in Tamil.

Replying to the query of a prominent News channel, Silambarasan said that he will not seek apology for the Beep song as he did not release it officially and it was leaked by miscreants. The multi-talented star also stated that the song was created with an intention to support women and it is being grossly misunderstood by everyone.

In an earlier clarification in social media, Simbu had stated that the song was a private one to be shared within friends circle and not intended for public release.

Simbu also clarified that music director Anirudh is not part of the song.

Both Simbu and Anirudh have been facing a series of police complaints registered against them by various women rights activists, organisations and political parties in many places across Tamil Nadu. Even Kollywood celebrities have condemned the song. .
