Silamabarasan appeared in front of Kattur Police station near Gandhipuram, Coimbatore yesterday in connection with the Beep song issue that stirred up a huge controversy by women's rights activists and organisations.
Cases were filed against Simbu and Anirudh in Coimbatore Race Course Police station for the song allegedly demeaning women with cuss words. Anirudh had appeared in the station last month and has given explanation. Simbu approached the Madras High Court to relieve him of personal appearance but the Court ordered him to report to the Coimbatore Police on or before 24th of February.
Simbu was asked to come to Kattur Police station anticipating huge crowd in Race Course station. However fans of the multi-talented actor thronged the Kattur station also ever since the news of the star's impending arrival broke out.
After meeting the police Simbu while addressing media persons who had gathered there reiterated that he was innocent and had cooperated with the police investigation. He also said the God will take care of the rest.
The 'Manmadhan' actor was spotted with a plaster on his nose owing to an injury suffered recently during the shoot of his upcoming film 'Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada' directed by Gautham Menon.
Police sources revealed that the actor was questioned for around 20 minutes. 35 questions were posed to him by the station inspector. Simbu apparently said he wrote and composed the song after a love failure but could not recount the date when it was composed. He confirmed that he composed the song with his own music instruments and Anirudh does not have any connection with the song. He also said he did not know who leaked the song and he was innocent as he could not be held responsible for the leak.
