In late 2015, Actor Silambarasan's 'Beep Song' was leaked and it become a huge controversy and it also lead to protests against the actor and cases being filled against him at many police stations. When a reporter asked Isaignani Ilaiayraja on his views about the 'Beep song', the legendary composer's angry reaction for asking an inappropriate question elicited another controversy against the senior music director.
Now 'Beep Song' is a long forgotten topic. Ilaiyaraja has lent his voice for the spiritual gana song 'Ratula Vandi Ooduthu' song in STR's upcoming film 'Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan' which has been scheduled to hit the screens next week.
In his exclusive interview to IndiaGlitz, STR spoke about why the senior Raja was made to sing this song composed by his son Yuvan Shankar Raja.
"Two reasons. One is that such a voice is required for Ashwin Thatha character. We felt Raja sir's voice will be the most apt. Another reason is that, during the Beep song issue many people criticised it. But when Raja sir was pointedly asked about that, he just spoke about asking that question at a inappropriate place and did not speak a word about another person's song (Beep song). I felt embarrassed that a questioning pertaining to me was used to hurt him at that occasion. So I felt I wanted to make him sing a song which has a spiritually strong content. "
This is Ilaiyaraja's second song for Simbu after the beautiful melody 'Machan Machan' from the 2007 hit film 'Silambattam' which also had the music score of Yuvan.
