Simbu’s mother Usha T. Rajendar released a video thrashing former President of Tamil Film Producers Council Vishal who imposed red card against the “Eeswaran" actor.
The Tamil Film Producers Council and the Film Employees Federation of South India were involved in a face-off after FEFSI allowed the shoot of Silambarasan TR’s new film 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu' (VTK), directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The TPFP has reportedly requested FEFSI not to cooperate with the film's shot till Simbu pays the pending dues.
The shooting of 'Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu was abruptly stopped on Thursday due to this issue. Now Simbu's mother Usha opened up about their side of the events and slammed Vishal for the judgement he provided against Simbu when he was in a position . She said that Simbu helped Michael Rayappan, producer of “AAA” by not receiving his pending salary of Rs. 3.5 crore and made the film release at the right time.
She also stated that " After the film’s release, he called for a panchayat with TFPC saying that Simbu should act for free in another film of his. Vishal, who was then the president of TFPC passed a resolution that stated that to compensate the losses incurred by the producer with AAA, Silambarasan should either act for free in another film for the producer or pay `2.40 crore for every film he does following that. This was passed without our approval".
"Is he a Supreme Court judge to pass such an order? Can’t we appeal against it?. Vishal is accused of wasting Rs. 14 crore of Trust and members. When they questioned Vishal about the money, he ran away from the meeting after singing “Jana Gana Man" she added.
She further added, “The Nadigar Sangam is not part of FEFSI. Selvamani himself has stated that the TFPC is using him as a henchman. TFPC involves him in such mediations to threaten people by saying that they will not allow film workers to take part in shoots... But TFPC is doing katta panchayat stating that they are close to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Udhayanidhi Stalin, and no one can question them. But we are confident that the CM will not stand by such illegal activities".
