Simbu entered the film industry at a very young age thanks to his multi talented father T.Rajendhar who was ruling the film industry in late 1980s and 1990s. The young boy captivated everyone with his exemplary dancing and acting skills.

'Kadhal Azhivadhillai' that released in 2002 was Simbu's first film as hero and 'Dum' is his first super hit which gave him a strong hold as a commercial hero. At the earliest stage of his career Simbu penned the script and also supervised the direction of the film 'Manmadhan'. Many were cynical about this move but Simbu went ahead with his decision which was like a tight rope walk at that tender age.
