In this Exclusive Red Carpet Interview to IndiaGlitz, the ever candid multi-talented actor Silambarsan opens up all about his new film Idhu Namma Aalu`, future projects and how he has changed as a person. Excerpts:

Why is it that you don`t get along with the new Nadigar Sangam administration? You threatened to resign from Nadigar Sangam?

Its not like I don`t get along. Who am I to threaten Nadigar Sangam? I just said I felt that way. I said I would resign because I am not happy about whatever happened. And I am open not only about Nadigar Sangam. I am always an open person and I am always very clear about what I am saying. During that period I felt a little upset. Now everything is fine.

Where is the Beep controversy now?

If Beep controversy was there how 80% of ladies are coming to watch my film? People are trying to push it like that. Why I didn`t even apologize for the beep song issue was because when I do something, if I`ve hurt someone or if I would have wantedly released something and then and if anyone is saying something (about that) I can understand. Something which has been half cooked and stolen and if you are reacting and asking me to say sorry for it I am not game for it. I stood by it and because I wanna tell the truth to the people and let them decide.

But you didn`t go for Gautham Menon`s shoot also during that time?

Because it was not my shoot. At that time they were shooting some other film. Not our film.

Tell us about Idhu Namma Aalu`

As an actor I always want to do something new. When Pandriaj sir narrated this one to me I felt like after Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya`, this film would definitely connect to the audience. Because there is no much of a story. But no other film has portrayed the people who are going to get married with such intensity. I thought that would be a big selling point for this film. A lot of people who are going to get married will definitely get related to the film.

It is a film you are not in your usual image. There are no punch dialogues and action scenes. How did you overcome that?

When VTV was happening I told Gautham that every day I am standing near the gate; in this film all the time I am on the phone having conversations with people. But end of the day if it is someone else I don`t how they (audience) would have reacted but when it comes to someone like Simbu and Nayanthara and for people to watch them on screen where they can relate them also as well. So I think that is the biggest plus for the film.

There is some kind of chemistry still there between you and Nayanthara…

Everyone is saying that (laughs). I have been myself and she has been herself. I really liked Nayan`s performance and I was very comfortable working. If it was someone else I don`t know how it would have ended up.

So can we say a little bit unlucky in love. Even the film says that?

May be I am lucky in life. Everyone has a bad life and a good love life. But I had a bad love life but a very good life.

Even in this film there are quite a few references to Ajith? You still remain his loyal fan?

Always. It`s like (asking) you still believe in god. I always believe in god.

What about Kuralarasan`s music?

Lot of people called me and told me about his re-recording for the film. Like RR is very good. Mama waiting` song is very good in the theater etc. Response is very nice. I was little worried for the re-recording. But today after getting response from audience I think he has done a great job.

Lot of youth audience and especially woman audience are really enjoying the film. Is it because the film has your real life romance and other things?

I don`t know (laughs). There are a lot of things in this film that comes from my personal life. I din know how to react first but when Pandiraj told this to me I just asked him to keep it. Because you have to be sportive today. That is also a selling point. People are enjoying it and why stop it.

Soori has done a wonderful job too…

Yes. I was a little worried in the beginning before we started the film. Because I was not sure whether we will match well. But the first day, first shot itself I was very happy. He has done a superb job. I enjoyed working with Soori and I told him that this is going to definitely rock and I am very very happy for him.

At the end many people told that they wish Simbu had married Nayanthara. What is your comment on that?

(Laughs) See even after VTV people said what if Simbu had married Trisha. It`s all about the film. If something like that is coming out of people, it means, that much they have really liked the film and they have enjoyed it. I am happy that we have been a part of it and I thank Nayan also for giving a fantastic performance. For working also she has been so helpful.

And she dint object to any dialogues in the film?

No even she didn`t say anything.

Will you do another film with Nayanthara?

Definitely. Something which demands both of us. Only if a film demands me I will do that film. If anyone else can do that film, then there is no point in me doing it. I think that way some kind of script match both of us we can do.

Tell us how it was working with Pandiraj because there were so many stories telling that you had a fall out with him?

I have never had any issues with Pandiraj till today. Even issues and problems that will happen in any kind of a movie. Those things were all for the benefit of the film. Other than that I don`t think there is anything personal. In that way till today I will never let down my director. We have never had anything of that sort. From the production side he did have some issues and all that but end of the day we are all working for the film`s success. Right now I think success is more important than all those things.

You have the most loyal fan base after Ajith. How are you so active on Social media?

Actually I am not too active but my fans are more active. That is quite happy and shocking as well. Shocking because if it is for any other actor when they go through so much of bad phase lot of people tend to change. But I think I
