The dialogues with double meanings could only save this film for Samy Associates. There is no competent work from debut director Vijayaprasad. He is good in dialogues and the double meaning it gives at several places appeals to the front bench audience. After debacle of 'Yaksha' producer TP Siddaraju has made a right choice in 'Sidlingu' everyone thought. It is not so. The happenings in the life of director Vijayaprasad - enjoying sex life in college days, developing fascination to car, falling love again, indulging in a tussle and losing everything does not become a convincing story. The film surrounds around Sidlingu and the narration is also with a background voice. As a college student Sidlingu is attracted by lecturer Andalamma car but Andalamma gives the sexual pleasure for Sidlingu that surprises him. Sidlingu is forced to leave his college and come to Srirangapatna as his parents are dead. Sidlingu helps school teacher Mangala (Ramya) and it develops as friend. As expected the love proposal is also made by Sidlingu to Mangala. In the meantime the car that Sidlingu owned from Asadulla Baig is a problem for him. He has the last wish documents of Asadulla Baig (Sridhar KS) that lands him in dismay. Sidlingu loses Mangala in an effort to save the disgrace of a cop. For all that the fascination of a car becomes the route cause. Yogish is too good in dialogue delivery and remained very natural in performance. Ramya as a teacher of government school looks very sweet and the role is not worthwhile for her capacity. Sridhar, Girija Lokesh, Nagaraja Murthy, Suman Ranganath are adequate in their roles. Anoop Seelin has lent three lovely tunes. Manase.and Achchu Mechu are good. Iddaddh Iddange helidre.. is hard hitting. The cinematography in Sidlingu is in top class level. The color application to three stages of admirable. Score - 5/10 |
