Several Bollywood fans announced their release date when the Covid-19 situation eased up earlier this year. However, the second wave of the pandemic of the pandemic caused the films to postpone. Siddharth Malhotra's war drama 'Shershah' was scheduled to release on 2nd of July but it couldn't happen. The film has been delayed for quite a while and finally makers have abandoned the plans of a theatrical release and have decided to release the film on Amazon Prime Video.
A source shared, "The producers have decided to skip the theatrical release considering the current situation that’s getting unpredictable each passing day. The deal between the makers and Amazon Prime Video is said to have been more or less locked and they will make the announcement as soon as the paperwork is completed. The makers are contemplating on release the film next month."
'Shershah' is based on the life and exploits of Kargil war hero Cpt Vikram Batra who was awarded Paramveer Chakra posthumously for his heroic deeds. Siddharth will play dual role in film as both Captain Batra and his twin brother Vishal Batra.
