'Kapoor and Sons' actor Sidharth Malhotra was working as an assistant director on Karan Johar's 2010 film "'My Name Is Khan' six years ago. He was then working with, ace cinematographer Ravi K Chandran behind the camera for the SRK`s movie. But as he grew in the industry with his hard work, Sidharth's next release, that stars Katrina Kaif has also been shot by the same DoP, Ravi K Chandran.
On sharing his experience from the first day of shoot, Sidharth said: "I was an assistant on My Name Is Khan, and he (Chandran) shot that film. Now, after six years, I am doing a full-fledged solo-hero film with him. This time, I am in front of the camera, and he is behind it. It was an unbelievable moment on the first day of the shoot. Mr Chandran said, "Sir, thoda left." I turned around and said, 'Sir? Itni izzat? (So much respect?)'"
Sidharth Further elaborates by saying, "When he called me 'sir', I thought to myself, Where did I begin from, and where have I reached?` It was heart touching, and a great feeling. I share a great relationship with him," he totally call that moment "a surreal one", for him to be on the sets with such a senior technician, especially when he had seen Chandran shoot Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol firsthand.
Sidharth seemed to have enjoyed shooting for the film. He adds to say: "You have a responsibility to make your work fun. I have learnt that with experience. So now, whenever I feel that I am a little comfortable in front of the camera, or with my career, I use that [moment] to feel great."
On career basis, Sidharth was last seen in the blockbuster movie Kapoor and Sons` and will soon be seen in 'Baar Baar Dekho' that will star Katrina Kaif in the lead.
