Kannada film industry's young star Murali and well known film director Mahesh Sukhadhare have combined in 'Siddhu' which has all the commercial ingredients to make it a hit.

The film is well made with huge spent money spent on execution of songs and fight sequences. Its story cannot be described as very good, but nevertheless the audience will be engaged throughout the film as a tight script and a brisk presentation on screen support the film's narration.

The producer says that he has gone a little over budget on the film, but whatever he has spent on the film is seen on the screen. There are breathtaking chase and fight sequences and some visually bright songs. Totally the presentation is rich and it is certain to appeal all sections of audience.

The high point in the film is the brisk narration in the last 30 to 35 minutes, which keeps the audience engrossed in their seats. The editing is also perfect in the last few reels of the film. But if care would have taken to edit some yawning sequences that comes in the flash back in the second half of the film, then the film would have certainly enhanced its appeal. Even in the first half, there are many interesting twists before the interval sequences which keeps the audience interest at a high profile.

Siddhu is a fun loving college student who is attached to his sister and brother in law. In the college he comes across a rich girl and after many comical interludes the couple gets attracted to each other. But the girl has a disturbed family life and her father is a drunkard and a womanizer. The girl who has lost her mother gets closer to Siddhu.

Meanwhile, Siddhu is also closer to his schoolteacher who faces some health problems and gets admitted to a Hospital. Siddhu faces a dilemma when the doctors in the Hospital say that Rs. 3 lacs are needed for an urgent operation to his teacher. Siddhu faces a critical situation when he is not able to mobilize the funds required for his teacher's hospitalization. He is forced to take the help of an underworld don for a surgery to his ailing teacher. The Don seeks help from Siddhu and he will be asked to go to the neighboring state to deliver a suitcase to another notorious don. But the suitcase will be missed while he is traveling in the train. The don then kidnaps Siddhu's sister and his brother-in-law and threatens to kill them till he returns the suitcase. Siddhu seeks the help of his lover who collects the money by threatening her father in gunpoint. Finally the crisis is resolved and the lovers get united. The hero demonstrates his dynamism and courage and emerges victorious in the end.

The film's narration reminds you of a German film "Run Lola Run" which was later dubbed to English and was released a few months ago. But who will care for original stories these days when these days every other film that come out are remakes. The technical crew including director Mahesh Sukhadhare, Cameraman Ramesh Babu, and Music director R.P.Patnayak have done a perfect job. The music is good and the songs are well shot.

Murali is still young and may have to learn a lot in portraying emotional sequences. But he has certainly come off better in the action and song sequences. The film's heroine Deepu is good as an actress in the second half, but she also demonstrates that she has no inhibitions in the skin show. Tara and Chandru are adequate in their respective roles. "Siddhu' is well narrated film. You will enjoy seeing this film. For Murali fans it is a bonanza.
