With the Tamil Nadu government proposing a ban on E-cigarettes, 'Bommarillu' Siddharth has reacted vociferously against the proposal. While there are claims that vaping (using an e-cig) could be dangerous as harmful chemicals and flavouring agents are used in their manufacture, Sid says that they "are proven to help people stop smoking".
"Worldwide cigarette sales have been going down because of these devices. Only cigarette companies should be afraid of e-cigarettes. Cigarettes kill. Until you can ban cigarettes, leave the vapes alone! Vaping communities world over are fighting big tobacco to protect, regulate and improve the vaping movement. Millions of ex-smokers live better lives using e-cigs. There are far more convincing studies to show vaping helps quit smoking!" the actor says.
"I have personally seen vaping change lives. It is crucial we as a country don't allow blatant submission of governments to pro big tobacco legislation. Smoking is a proven killer. Let's fight that. Keep up the good fight guys," he adds.
