Actor Siddharth who has proved himself as the Real Hero` by involving himself in rain rescue and relief operations in Chennai visited Cuddalore, another district of Tamil Nadu which was reported to be severely affected by the incessant rains.
After visiting various places across Cuddalore, Siddharth has clarified some ground realities. He has said that the heavy rain during the Diwali season has caused severe damage to Cuddalore and the recent spell of rain was much lighter when compared to that. The actor has also dispelled the wrong information being spread in media and social media that Cuddalore is worse affected than Chennai and it has not received any rescue and relief measures.
Siddharth has confirmed that water stagnation in most part of Cuddalore has drained and power supply has resumed. Relief materials like cooked food, bread, biscuits, sanitary napkins etc are being supplied in abundance. Herequested people to not to bring them anymore as they are being wasted. He said that the things usable for a long term like blankets, bed sheets and others can be supplied to Cuddalore people.
The Aayutha Ezhuthu` actor also pointed out the sorry state of affair that desperate villagers who are not affected by rain block the vehicles carrying relief materials and snatch them by applying force. He sought police protection for vehicles entering the district with relief materials so that they can reach the people of interior parts who are really affected by rain and flash floods.
Siddharth opened up the debate on rehabilitation for Cuddalore people. He said many people have lost their houses, agricultural lands and employment opportunities. He stressed the need for planning to meet these long term requirements and also said his group of volunteers will involve themselves in rehabilitation measures for Cuddalore people.
