The trailer of Shakun Batra's film 'Gehraiyaan' starring Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Pandey has finally dropped and it promises the audience a kind of love story which hasn't been seen in Bollywood yet. The film is based on four central characters and complex romantic relationships between them. The overall tone of the trailer seem to be calm, passionate and quite unapologetic.

During the virtual trailer launch event of 'Gehraiyaan', Deepika Padukone talked about how the film offers a fresh take on intimacy and infidelity. She said, "You have never seen any Indian actor play a character like this. Relationships are Shakun's forte. And by relationships I don’t mean boyfriend girlfriend. It could be siblings, parents. ... He is the best when it comes to exploring those dynamics."

She further added, "The world is full of different kinds of people and relationships and for us here, there was no reference point. One had to dig deep and trust the director. Intimacy hasn’t been explored in Indian cinema before the way Shakun does in Gehraiyaan. I have never played a character as raw, real and naked emotionally. She is extremely vulnerable. For an actor, it’s only possible for you to play this part when you feel safe and secure about the director’s vision and Shakun had it.”

'Gehraiyaan' will release on 11th of February on Amazon Prime Video.
