After making waves in the erotic role of Rathi in the Malayalam movie Rathinirvedam, a remake of the legendary 1978 film of the same name, model-turned-actress Shweta Menon is all set to entertain the audience with her sensual portrayal in Telugu and Tamil. Rathinirvedam will be dubbed in the two languages and released by SVR Media, which had released Dasavatharam, Surya s/o Krishnan, Iron Man 2 and more recently, Urumi in Telugu.

The movie is based on a novel by Padmarajan. When it was first made in 1978 by Bharathan, it was received with as much public adulation as intellectual criticism. In 2011, TK Rajiv Kumar has remade it in Malayalam with actors Sreejith and Shweta Menon.

The male lead (Pappu), about to join college, is overcome by sexual desire. He makes advances to Rathi, his neighbour who is elder to him in age. For all its porn quality, the film sensitively portrays the inner turmoil of Pappu and the pieties of Rathi, with a heart-touching climax.

Shobarani of SVR Media says that Sreejith and Shweta's chemistry is awesome. "Every scene has been shot by Rajiv Kumar in an exciting way. Music is appropriate and cinematography is splendid. Currently in its dubbing stages, we look forward to release the movie in Telugu very soon."
