Popular actress Shruti Haasan kickstarted this year with a bang. Her films 'Veera Simha Reddy' and 'Waltair Veerayya', both of which were released in January, turned out to be huge hits. Apart from being a gorgeous and talented actress, Shruti is a competent musician as well. In a recent media interaction, she shared that during the initial phase of her career, she was advised not to speak too much about her music talent.
According to a report in ETimes, she stated, "When I started out, people would often tell me – don’t talk about music zyada, it’ll distract people from your movies. But today, a multi-faceted artiste is valued. Sure, movies continue to take the limelight compared to independent music, but I’m happy I get to juggle both."
Recalling the time when she sang a song for his dad Kamal Haasan's film 'Thevar Magan' at the age of five, Shruti said, “I remember the small microphone I used, the studio being cold and everyone being so nice to me. Of course, now I understand the weight and value of that opportunity. My father was the nervous one that day."
Shruti concluded, "The pandemic gave me a lot of time to introspect, write new music and even look back at my own live performances in London. While I love performing live and seeing people’s faces change as I sing, I realised I also love singing for myself. It’s okay if my music never releases because the greatest gift God has given me is the ability to write a song from my heart for the joy of writing."
