Kamal Haasan on Tuesday morning underwent surgery on his leg. The surgery took place at Sri Ramachandra Hospital, Chennai. It was a follow-up surgery. Due to incessant physical work, the 'Vishwaroopam' actor had postponed the follow-up surgery.

The news is that it was a success. Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan, the daughters of the actor-politician, issued an official statement thanking one and all for their prayers and support. "The doctors and hospital staff are taking wonderful care of our father and he is doing well. He is in good spirits and is working towards a speedy recovery," the statement says.

The actresses further informed that Kamal will return home in four or five days. After taking a rest for a few days, during which he will recuperate, the Makkal Needhi Maiam leader will once again start interacting with people as part of his political mission. "We are grateful that your good energy will be a big part of his recovery," the statement further adds.
