Shruti Haasan after a long gap is acting in a Tamil movie 'Laabam' directed by S.P. Jananathan and starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead who is also co-producing the project along with Arumugakumar.

Shruti Haasan today switched hats and became singer for a romantic melody song for 'Laabam' under D. Imman's music composition. The fast progressing film has Jagapathy Babu as the villain while Kalaiarasan, Sai Dhansika, and Harish Uttaman costar. Ramji and Antony are the cinematographer and editor respectively for this hard hitting social thriller.
