Actress Shruthihasan has said that her father and mother were happier when they were separated than when they were living together.Ulagha Nayagan Kamal Haasan and famous Bollywood actress Sarika tied their nots in the year 1988. After 16 years of happy marriage the couple divorced in the year 2004 due to differences of opinion. Sarika gave birth to Shruthi in the year 1986 followed by Akshara in year 1991.

In a recent interview, she opened up about the divorce of her parents and said that she was happy that her parents parted ways and that it was not necessary for them to live together for some reason. According to Shruthi, they have made the right decision in their life by choosing to live seperately.

She also added that they seem even more happier after their seperation rather when they were together. However though both are affectionate towards their daughters, Kamal Haasan is Shruthi's favourite and has a better bond with him. She also said that the two are leading a wonderful individually.
