At the media briefing of her first grandmother role in ‘Shabdamani’ the top actress Shruthi declared that she was hardly 15 years when she took up ‘Hetta Karulu’ in 1994. I was mother of three children she said and that actually baffled the media.

In that cast Shruthi is just 30 years as on today was the question that cropped. The woman age and men salary should not be asked is what the popular adage goes.

When Dwarakish introduced Priyadarshini as Shruthi in ‘Shruthi’ Kannada film (remake of Pudhu Vasantham) she was twenty plus. This is what media understands. When ‘Shruthi’ was released it was 1991. When Hettha Karulu was released it was 1994. Shruthi roughly around 23 or 24 years! The age advances but not comes down!
