Even after completing the first schedule of Nandamuri Balakrishna's prestigious 100th film Gautamiputra Satakarni in Morocco, the heroine's name wasn't finalized. Such was the difficulty in finding an actress for this historical drama. The news is that the makers have finally zeroed in on a name: it's Shriya Saran, as has been speculated. Earlier, Nayanatara's name was under serious consideration. The last time Balayya and Shriya were paired together was in Chennakesava Reddy.
The last time Shriya was seen in a big-ticket film was opposite Nagarjuna in Manam. She is one heroine who has romanced all the Big Four of the last generation: Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, and Venkatesh. This will be a huge comeback film for Shriya.
Actor Balakarishna, director Krish, producer Rajeev must be relieved that Shriya is on board.
The cast and crew are bracing themselves up for the second schedule. In the Hyderabad schedule, to be kick-started after the return of Balayya from the US, around 200 junior artistes (among others) will participate. The war sequences will be choreographed under the aegis of Ram-Lakshman.
Y Rajeev Reddy is producing the film under First Frame Entertainments banner and Bibo Sreenivas is presenting the movie. Directed by Krish, it has music by Devi Sri Prasad.
