Actress Shriya Saran is a big supporter of charity and philonthraphic activities. After starting a spa in Mumbai's Lokhandwala which has all visually challenged employees, she is now all set to go around AP to promote talent among slum kids.
Shriya is the brand ambassador of an NGO that plans to conduct talent hunts for slum kids and youngsters with their programme 'Meri Pehchaan' across major metros in AP. Shriya and the NGO will reach out to over 1 Lakh kids an select the best amongst them and support them financially. We hear she will be going on a road show to Vizag, Viayawada, Warangal, Karimnagar et al to create awareness among kids and youngsters on this contest. This contest is being co-ordinated by former editor of a film magazine Vanaja Banagiri.
"She will tour the state in the next two months and will be a part of this initiative to search talent among underprivileged youngsters. The best 25 will be given financial support" a source confirmed.
Though Shriya is known to throw tantrums on the movie sets and stage shows, we believe she is very down to earth and passionate when it comes to charitable activities and is very accommodate.
She supposedly got the visually challenged staff in her spa specially trained in Srilanka to do their work.
