Shraddha Srinath, who was last seen in Ajith's Nerkonda Paarvai, has been riding high on success the past year with the success of the movie along with Nani's Telugu blockbuster Jersey.
Days after the passing of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in both houses of the parliament, Shraddha has shared her official statement regarding the act on social media, mentioning that she took her time to understand and analyse the pros and cons of the same, needing to be sure before making an open statement. Condemning the act that discriminates a particular group of people, Shraddha stated, "I was quiet all these days because I was taking time to ensure I understood the implications of the CAA and NRC and I didn't want to be biased or uninformed before taking a stand. I have taken a stand now and I am against anybody that tries to divide my country and its people by way of divisive politics. I have love and only love for everyone regardless of religion and the language they speak and the food they eat and their sexual orientation. Screw caste. I don't even acknowledge the existence of the bloody caste system. If your mindset is petty and if you are an insecure person who is threatened by "minorities" then you are a threat to the country itself."
Under the Citizenship Amendment Bill, which is now a law, illegal migrants of the Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Parsi and Christian communities who have come from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan until December 31, 2014, will be eligible for Indian citizenship.
