Tamil Nadu BJP president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has stated that the DMK’s proposed next week’s black flag demonstration against Prime Minister Narendra Modi was nothing but a clear betrayal of Tamils’ interest.
As reported earlier, the Centre hasn’t set up the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) despite Supreme Court’s instructions in this regard and the many protests indulged in by the people, farmers and political parties in Tamil Nadu. The DMK conducted a successful ‘jail-bharo’ protest on Thursday (05th April) condemning the BJP-led Centre for its reluctance in setting up the CMB.
In the meantime, the DMK has decided to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi by staging a black flag demonstration against him during his proposed visit to the State on 15th April (next Sunday). Tamilisai spoke at length about it while addressing newsmen yesterday.
“DMK’s decision to stage black flag demonstration against the Hon’ble Prime Minister would amount to betraying Tamils’ interests in particular and the State’s interests in general. It is high time the State Govt. desilted all the water-bodies in the State as it would go a long way in obviating the expected water-crisis during summer. The BJP would always be with the people to fight for their interests,” Tamilisai said.
