Ram Gopal Varma today addressed the press at Prasad Lab, Hyderabad. Speaking on the occasion, he expressed outrage over his detention on Sunday by the AP police in Vijayawada.
He asked if he and his producer Rakesh Reddy are terrorists for the police to have behaved in a high-handed fashion. He slammed the police for not letting him remain in Vijayawada.
"Lakshmi's NTR has already released in Telangana. Is there anything new that I can speak about the film? What is scaring them? I have to know who sent the police to prevent me from holding the press meet. Don't I have the freedom to hold even a press briefing? They don't want me to come to Andhra Pradesh. Is the State a North Korea? Do I need to possess a Visa to enter the State?" RGV today asked.
"Who sent the police personnel to the Airport to detain us in a room for seven full hours? There were no police personnel when Jagan was attacked earlier this year in an Airport. But they were readily available to mute us yesterday. The police told me they have orders not to let us speak," RGV said.
The controversial director demanded that the names of the higher officials who wanted him to be sent back to Hyderabad should be made known.
He confirmed that 'Lakshmi's NTR' will hit the screens in AP on May 1.
