Impress Films, the company that brought us such amazing feature films as 'Chocolate' and 'Kolai Vilaiyum Nilam', has announced a new project—a short film named 'Thatha'. The movie, starring the veteran comedian Janakaraj, will portray a timeless bond between a grandfather and grandson.
The 1970s and 1980s saw him building up his career, and he certainly made his mark as an expert comedian. Working in over 100 films and giving them with his memorable performances, he has been able to make a platform for himself in the industry with names like Goundamani and Senthil. He was seen in the character role of the acclaimed movie '96', which brought his versatility to light, and now he gets to play the lead role in 'Thatha'.
Naresh directed this emotionally charged short film, while Vinod handled the cinematography. The short film had another attraction that marked the debut of Ameena Rafeeq, who is the niece of the music maestro A.R. Rahman, as the music director.
Janakaraj has aptly portrayed the story of a grandfather-grandson relationship on screen. The film 'Thatha' is short, compact, touching to the soul, and speaks volumes about the love that remains the same in the hearts of the grandparents.
