Gowtham Vasudeva Menon's Varanam Aayiram is fast shaping up. The movie featuring Suriya went to floors a few days.

The movie was initially shot in Campa Cola Grounds. Now the cast and crew are bound to a vacant area behind Sri Parthasarathy Temple, Triplicane to shoot a song sequence for the movie.

The movie features Kuthu Ramya and Daniel Balaji in prominent roles. Music is by Harris Jayaraj and cinematography by R D Rajasekhar.

The cast and crew are planning to go to Afghanistan to shoot a major portion of the movie soon.
