After the humongous success of Kaduva, director Shaji Kailas and actor Prithviraj are reuniting for yet another big budget movie titled Kappa. The movie was officially launched on Friday at Trivandrum with a custom switch on function. The pooja of the film was held at 9:30 am at Palayam VJT Hall. The switch on ceremony was performed by SN Swamy while versatile actor Jagdish, who is also part of the cast, performed the first clap. The movie's cast including Prithviraj, Asif Ali ,AK Sajan, Jinu V Abraham participated in the pooja ceremony.

The movie is jointly bankrolled by Jinu V Abraham, Dolvin Kuriakos and Dileesh Nair under the banner of Theater of Dreams in collaboration with FEFKA Writers Union. The script of the film is based on Indhu Gopan's famous novel Shankumukhi. Indhu Gopan himself is writing the film. The story of the film is told in the background of the local gangsters of Thiruvananthapuram. Apart from Prithviraj, the movie will also star Manju Warrier and Asif Ali in important roles. Manju Varrier is expected to join the film next week. Actors Dileesh Pothan, Jagadish and Nandu are also part of the film's cast. The movie's cinematography is handled by Jomon T. John and editing is by Shameer Mohammad. As Prithviraj has given a call sheet of 60 days for the film, the moviebuffs have pinned high hopes on the upcoming project.
