Vicky Kaushal's recently released film 'Sardar Udham' is a dark and gripping tale about a hero of our country and it managed to impresses audience and critics alike. Despite being an amazing film, 'Sardar Udham' failed to make the cut to become India's official entry for The Academy Awards and this has enraged Vicky Kaushal's fans and those who loved the film.
It's not the decision itself that has infuriated people but the reason behind it. Memebers of the jury think that 'Sardar Udham' is inappropriate as it expresses out hatered for the Britishers. Recently, director Shoojit Sircar himself reacted on the matter. He respected jury's decision and stated that it was quite "subjective".
He told a news outlet, "It is a personal opinion, it is very subjective, I have no comment on that. I respect the jury and their decision. The film that was finally selected, I know about it, and I am glad that it was chosen. I go by the jury’s decision.” Tamil film 'Koozhangal' was ultimately choosen as India's official entry for The Academy Awards.
