Shoes thrown at Chennai Super Kings players

The first IPL 2018 match in Chennai had a delayed start after match officials were late to the ground and the widespread protests in Anna Salai also contributing.  The first half of the game swung from CSKs advantage to KKRs favour as Andre Russell unleashed magnificent power hitting to take his team to a formidable 202 in 20 hours.

The proceedings were marred by some spectators throwing a shoes at the CSK players around the 13th over which fell close to Ravindra Jadeja who was fielding at the boundary and Faf Du Plessis the twelfth man.  The pertpertrators were evicted from the stadium and then it was all Russell.
