When producer Shoeb Ahmed had locked on 'Meeruthiya Gangsters' as his next film, little did he know that he would end up playing an interesting cameo in it as well. A source reveals that while shooting in Meerut, the crew of the Zeishan Quadri film found out that the actor playing the part could not make it to the sets, ironically due to some local gangs holding up a few vehicles out of town.

Since it was a night set-up, and the team was on a tight schedule, it was important that they find a suitable replacement without cancelling the shoot.

It was not an easy task as they were shooting in a secluded place and finding a new actor would mean a waste of time. It was then that the actors - Jaideep Ahlawat, Akash Dahiya and Nushrat Bharucha - pointed out that their producer Shoeb could be requested to do the part. Although reluctant initially, the team convinced him to agree to doing the film especially since they felt that he fit the part perfectly. An insider says, "He pulled off the role with amazing ease, impressing the cast and crew. In fact, some of the industrywallahs who`ve seen the film have been asking if he would do a part in their films too."

When asked about it, the producer laughs it off saying, "It was a last moment call that the unit made for me and I agreed. It`s a different experience facing the camera than being on the other side of it, but it was enjoyable!"
