Imagine someone resigning from a very good job believing that they have a dream job in the mailbox. For example, imagine a TV actor quitting a Bigg Boss-level offer believing that he will be cast by Rajamouli in 'RRR', only to discover that Rajamouli never contacted him and that the offer letter in his mailbox is a phishing attack. This is what has happened to Nidhi Razdan, the well-known journalist who was associated with NDTV for 21 years before quitting it last year to take up the job of an Associate Professor at Harvard University.
The journo has today said that she has been victimized by a phishing attack by some mischievous elements who seemingly had access to her personal details. Nidhi has lodged a police complaint.
Nidhi wrote in a long open statement that she kept receiving e-mails with several anomalies for months together. She believed that it was because of the pandemic that she hadn't got a joining date. After repeated postponements, she recently contacted Harvard University's authorities, only to be told that they never had any offer for her.
"The perpetrators of this phishing attack used clever forgeries and misrepresentations to obtain access to my personal devices and social media accounts," Nidhi today said, adding that she is alarmed at the scale of the attack.
