A rather rare incident has come to light in Chennai's Saveetha Dental College and Hospital. A 7-year-old boy had developed 526 teeth in his lower right jaw. The doctors at the hospital have successfully removed them by performing a surgery.

If you thought what the patient was suffering from, it pertains to a rare condition. He had compound composite ondontome because of which hundreds of small, medium and large teeth developed in a sack. The sack was removed surgically and when the doctors counted the teeth, it ran into hundreds.

"Our son had had a swelling in the lower jaw since he was three. He couldn't be diagnosed properly because he was too young and didn't let the doctors do the examination. We waited for him to grow," the boy's parents have been quoted as saying.

The boy is now healthy.
