Shocked distributors approach Nagarjuna with a demand

It was recently reported that 'Manmadhudu-2' is expected to report losses to the tune of 50 percent. That's what has happened. The comedy entertainer's distributors have been horrified by the magnitude of failure. "They invested Rs 20 Cr to secure theatrical rights. In a nightmarish scenario, the Nagarjuna film could collect just under Rs 10 Cr, becoming a big dud in the US as well," a source says.
What has been the immediate effect of this disaster? If the buzz in the industry is to be believed, the beleaguered distributors have started approaching Nagarjuna to pay back some money to lessen their suffering. Nag, who has co-produced the movie, is yet to take a call on the demand.
"It would be good if Nag makes good some of the losses that 'Manmadhudu-2' has entailed. The film has been a damp squib more in some markets than others," the source says.
Directed by Rahul Ravindran, it stars Rakul Preet Singh as the heroine.
